Comet
Garradd and M71: One Day Later
A few
years ago, while cruising idly along the background of the Milky
Way, the faint Comet Garradd paid a visit to the pretty little
globular star cluster M71 in Sagitta. This was about as close to
each other as they appeared to get.
This is a
crop, giving a closer view of the comet and cluster. By the way,
the cluster was about 240 million times farther away than the
comet. The people of the cluster, if any, remained unaware
of the comet's existence.
