The Rosette Nebula

NGC
2238, the Rosette Nebula, lies to the east of Orion in the
constellation of Monoceros, the Unicorn. It surrounds and is illuminated
by the star cluster NGC 2244, which is more prominent in the telescope
than the nebula itself.
