New Horizons at Pluto
In the summer of 2015 the
NASA space probe New Horizons will fly by the dwarf planet
Pluto and its moons, giving us our first close-up views of
these distant bodies. Pluto is known to be reddish, and beyond
that we know little about its surface features. In the
distance we see the icy moon Charon, slightly over half as big
as diminutive Pluto itself.
