Rotating Black Hole

It seems that spinning black holes drag the structure of nearby space along with them as they rotate, creating a twisted vortex. This is an updated version of an illustration I did for the December 1997 issue of Sky & Telescope. The original has been published in more places than I can keep track of. It was one of the first digital pieces I did which meant for publication in print. This new 21st Century version is a considerable improvement in terms of resolution and overall quality.
